Romans exhibition opens at Leeds City Museum

Sat 20 Sep 2014

The British Museum's touring 'Roman Empire: Power & People' exhibition is Threefold's latest collaboration with the Leeds City Museum, adding another chapter to what is a considerable portfolio of work in this sector.

The striking suite of design work was developed around the exhibition branding, which incorporates distinctive typography with an iconic image of Emperor Commodus in the pose of Hercules, set against a fiery textured background. The dramatic, eye-catching visual treatment gives a strong presence to all the printed and digital communications. The project involved the creation of marketing collateral including leaflets, posters, banners, bus advertising and digital advertising as well as emotive exhibition graphics including banners, panels, printed exhibition guides and interactive family displays.

This marketing and exhibition design project follows a long run of prestigious special exhibition collaborations for Threefold, including 'Spiceworld the exhibition' in 2011, 'Dancing in the Street' in 2011, The British Museum's touring 'Pharoah: King of Egypt' in 2012, the V&A's 'Queen Elizabeth II by Cecil Beaton' exhibition in 2012 marking the Queen's Jubilee Year, ‘Treasured! Smuggled? Stolen? Saved?’ a project led by young people at the heart of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, and more recently 'Natural Beauty' and the follow-up, 'Natural Beauty 2' in 2013 ...to name a few.
